Gems from Jim

How I rejoice at the privilege that we have as an association to mobilize people to be on Mission for the
Lord. We had another banner year as we had a team representing both associations to go to Thailand,
Japan, Brazil, and Slovakia. I am so appreciative of this joint effort to help spread the gospel to all
peoples. The Blueprint for what we do can be found in Acts 1:8. In addition, we have help to financially
support other trips from some of our local churches.

Not everyone can go, but all can give something that others can go. We are all involved in sharing the
great news of salvation in Jesus. We do great things as we work together.
A big help on our foreign trips is the support that comes from our Association by way of the Don Stanfill
Memorial Offering and from the State Convention by way of the State Mission Offering. THANK
YOU TO ALL THE CHURCHES THAT HAVE RECEIVED THESE OFFERINGS! These offerings
have enabled us to keep the costs of the trips as low as possible for those participating. We look
forward to two more foreign trips in 2011.

Most churches will receive the Don Stanfill offering on July 18th (the third Sunday of July). Would
you join in this effort to help our people to be on Mission for our Lord? Please help us by promoting the
offering in your church. If you are not able to receive the offering on this date, please choose an appropriate
date for receiving it. The important thing is that people have an opportunity to participate in this
mission outreach. Every church can give something. And, people will give if given an opportunity to do so.

Please find inside this newsletter a record as we have it from those churches that gave to the Stanfill
offering in the past. Is your church on the list as having given? If you have not received this offering,
would you consider doing so? Perhaps you are an individual receiving this note and your church has not
received the offering. Would you talk to your pastor and leaders about receiving the offering? Thank
you for joining with fellow Baptists throughout the county in doing the best we can in supporting our
own people who are On Mission for Him!

Gratefully Your Servant,
Bro. Jim Burke
Associational Missions Director

P.S. Please remind your treasurer that the Stanfill offering should be sent directly to the associational office.
